Since December 1, 2023, new emergency aid for victims of domestic violence has been set up by the Caf. This initiative aims to offer immediate financial support to those affected, helping them to distance themselves from the perpetrator of the violence and to meet urgent expenses while waiting for lasting solutions.
Who Can Benefit from This Aid?
This assistance is available to anyone who is a victim of domestic violence, regardless of gender, family situation, and resources. Whether you are in the process of separating or not, with or without dependent children, you can apply for this assistance.
Conditions for Requesting Assistance
To apply, you must have a document dated less than 12 months attesting to the violence suffered. This may be a complaint, a protection order, or a report to the public prosecutor. In addition, you must be legally resident in France, excluding holders of tourist visas.
Good to know: Financial resources are not an eligibility criterion for this aid.
How is it paid?
The aid is paid in one lump sum, usually within 3 to 5 working days after the request. Depending on the victim's financial and social situation, it may take the form of non-repayable aid or an interest-free loan. In the case of a loan, the perpetrator of the violence may be ordered to repay the loan in place of the victim.
Amount of Aid
The minimum amount of this aid is €240. It is calculated according to the victim's resources and the number of children under 21 in their care. For example, a person with three dependent children, whose resources are less than or equal to half the net minimum wage, could receive aid of €1,337.
